For foodies there’s a lot going on in Nerja and the neighboring villages: from super modern lounge bars right at the beach to authentic tapas bars in ‘centro historico’ (the old city centre at just steps away from the house).
There are many tapas bars in Nerja, where it is the custom to serve a tapa at every drink you order. Just point to what you like behind the glass counter, or let the waiter suggest, whatever works. A few minutes later you’re tapas will be right there for you, all home made, cause that’s the way it works in Nerja. Especially the fish tapas, with fish straight from the harbor are highly recommended.
As the saying goes, tapas will becomes better as the night lasts. The nice thing is that you’ll meet a lot of locals that will stop by for a drink and some tapas too and they love to start a conversation for example about latest happening in soccer.
For the more fancy Spanish kitchen there are also ample possibilities in Nerja. In the centre and immediate street around we’re sure you’ll find a place you’ll like.
We do recommend Ayo, the famous beach restaurant at Burriana beach, paella prepared outside; enjoy it with your feet in the sand! Other favorites of ours are: La Puntilla, Pulgia, Mariposa and Posada Iberico. We did prepare a tapas route that takes you to the best places in town. Do you fancy something different, don’t be shy to ask us for recommendations!
