In National Park Sierra Nevada there are many hikes along rivers, rare plants, pine forests and vistas – on a beautiful day even to Morocco. The park is relatively unexplored by foreign tourists, you won’t run into many other people on your hikes. The highest mountain in the region is the Mulhacen (3479 meters). The Veleta mountain (3396m) you can ski from November to April.
In the Alpujarras on the southern side of the Sierra Nevada a lot of Moorish influence is still to be found. There are a number of white villages that are worth visiting: Long Aron, Orgiva, Trevelez or Bubion.
